After a lifetime of motor bike riding and a few years of recreational flying I discovered the pleasure of being on the water after house boat holiday so I decided to buy a boat. But where to from here? Which boat? What size? How much? And plenty of advice from the boat ramp was just confusing! So I decided to go to the Sydney Boat Show to choose an aluminium runabout and get an education about boats and that’s when I met Bruce Allison from Allison Alloy. Bruce explained in detail about the history of Allison Alloy plate boats and why they are very different to other boats. I looked at every boat at the show but kept returning to the Allison boat on display at the Blakes Marine stand. The Allison Alloy boat stood out from the rest and you could see the workmanship and extra care that went into its making, even my wife said “this boat looks like it’s better made than the other boats” and she openly admits that she knows nothing about boats. I also appreciated the passion that Bruce had for his boats.

To cut a long story short I now own an Allison Alloy 5.45 Adventura and all can say is that it lives up to all my expectations and has been given the thumbs up by the veterans at the boat ramp. My experience with Bruce the team at Allison Alloy has been second to none, I highly recommend that you take one of these boats out for test drive before you make your final decision to buy a boat.
