Allison Alloy Plate Boats

Col Allison - In memorial
7 Jul 1928 to 14 Dec 2010

Just a short note about Dad who was born in Brisbane on the 7/7/1928 and lived here all of his life. From having an ice run, delivering hats, a policeman, truck driver, owning the biggest chain of privately owned toy shops in Australia, owning ALLISON low loaders and trailers, ALLISON Engineering and finally ALLISON Fibreglass Boats.

He suffered complete renal failure on his birthday this year after medication for his sugar diabetes was found to be contributing to kidney deterioration. He was in and out of hospital with dialysis treatment but in the end his body just gave up.

His legacy will be carried on through ALLISON Alloy Plate Boats with his eldest son Bruce and his only daughter Susan. His second son Greg is the general manager of Drake Trailers which was Dad’s opposition in the old days.

His many grandchildren (his pride and joy) Sian, Cody and Siobhan (Bruce’s children), Kurt, Hope and Clay (Greg’s children), Nathan and Georgia (Susan’s children) I’m sure will keep the Col ALLISON legacy and great name alive and well for many years to come.

Dad thank you so much for everything you taught us, we will be forever in your debt and you leave us today for that big boat factory in the sky.
